Earth Walk

Earthwalks are a wonderful way of investigating how we can use our senses to increase our understanding about the environment around us.
Short activities focusing on the individual senses lead the children to discover how to describe the woodland in a variety of creative ways.
The Sculpture Gallery focuses on exploring patterns, colours and textures in nature and leads to the creation of sculptures on a given theme.
Lilliput’s Garden uses similar starting points to uncover the world of the tiny people and creating minute structures for their enjoyment!
In order to reach Poets’ Corner the children need to ‘collect’ words and phrases. Descriptive vocabulary literally tumbles out from the children resulting in the creation of some wonderful poems.
