Environmental Education

Bronze age round house

The Environmental Education activities offer you the opportunity to experience
the natural environment through a range of unique educational, hands on experiences.

We focus on a wide range of environmental topics e.g sustainability, ecosystems, cycles,
interpretation and change, which support many subjects within the National Curriculum.

We seek to educate young people through the ecology, history and natural resources of Dartmoor.

All our activities are interactive and child centred, involving all of the children all of the time.

Quality

We are able to tailor the focus of the activity to suit the specific needs of your group.

We use a variety of spectacular sites including our own Bronze Age Round House, Forest School,

Meadows, Stream and Teepee, Hound Tor Medieval Village, Hay Tor Victorian Quarry, River Lemon and Saltern Cove.

These encounters in the environment are led by qualified and experienced practitioners based in the Moor Room –a springboard to learning.

Heatree Activity Centre is an accredited provider of the John Muir Award and has a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.
