The Charity

Heatree Activity Centre is owned and run by the registered Charity Heathercombe Brake Trust. It is a charitable company limited by guarantee and registered in England & Wales. The company registration No. is 4175683. The company registered address is, Heatree Activity Centre, Manaton, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ13 9XE.

As a Charity it is a non profit making organisation and has three main objects that govern its operations:

1) To advance the education and promote the physical, spiritual, and mental welfare and development of children and young people and their families (especially but not exclusively those who have a disability or who suffer from any spiritual or other deprivation by virtue of their social or economic circumstances) within a Christian environment and ethos.

2) To advance and promote the above amongst adults, in-so-far as from time-to-time the Charity's facilities and resources exceed the demand for them amongst children, young people, and their families.

3) To provide, manage, and improve one or more Residential Activity Centres conducted on Christian principles and to assist in organising conferences and training courses for the advancement of such purposes.

As a Charity Heatree has many volunteers that provide an invaluable service to the running of the Centre. Many of these volunteers come from across Europe and help in many aspects of the work and service at Heatree. They often live on site and may work in the kitchens, around the house or in the grounds ensuring that the Centre is kept looking as superb as it does. If you would like to volunteer your services please email us at admin@heatree.com and ask for an information pack and application form.

Although we need to charge for groups to stay we rely heavily on those that give either of their time or money to support the work of the charity. If you would like to give a monetary gift in support of the work at Heatree then please do contact us either by phone on 01647 221307 or by email at admin@heatree.com If you are from a Church and have stayed or would like to stay at Heatree, in so doing you are through your visit helping us to run the Centre in support of the many children that stay with us each year.

There is a daily Assembly delivered to all school groups that stay at the Centre. In these Assemblies the children find out about the history of Heatree and why the centre is Christian Charity and hear about the love of Jesus Christ.
